Spruce up for Spring!

Spring is in the air, can you feel it?! Well almost. Rumor has it that the groundhog did not see his shadow this year and according to an old folktale, that means there will be an early spring. Happy dance anyone?

For those of you who appreciate warmer brighter days over the winter cold like myself, this is good news for you! Along with the warmer weather, it often inspires us to refresh, cleanse and re-organize our homes as we get ready to bring in the new season.

Out with the old and in with the new! Sprucing up for spring does not have to be hard. Simple changes to your space will have it feeling refreshed and renewed.  I’m going to share with you my top design tips for easily incorporating a new feeling into your home just in time for spring.

Incorporate botanics and florals:

Of all the ways you can bring life to a space, incorporating botanics and florals is an all-time favorite and no brainer. Even when it’s not spring or summer, I am always finding myself placing a fresh set of cut florals into my clients homes.  Not only do fresh flowers and greenery add to the air quality in your space, there’s just something about having a living element grounded in a space that makes your space feel fresh.

Add pops of color:

Springtime is the perfect time to showcase vibrant and bright pops of color into your home. We are often inspired by the fresh colors of florals as they start to bloom. One can so easily incorporate vibrant and bright colors in a home by switching out less permanent pieces in a room. Pieces like pillows, throw blankets, art, and accessories are all perfect candidates for a re-fresh that you can rotate throughout the year as the seasons change.

Declutter the space + Give it a new purpose

There’s nothing quite like a clean and organized space that makes you feel the freshness of Spring! In the space below, we worked with our client to give this space a new purpose and to also purge things the client no longer needed (especially no longer needed in the space). We approached the space with a light new color palette that made the space feel larger and brighter, and you guessed it, we incorporated florals and greenery! Even if you aren’t ready to totally transform a space with a new design, simple things like organizing the space and incorporating a few new elements like paint can make it feel new and fresh.
