About Me

Hello, I’m Brian Birkel.  Whether you were referred to me, we have met or worked together in the past, or you have found me by chance, I appreciate your time and consideration.

It may not be original but my philosophy is to treat others the way I want to be treated.  I truly want to help you find a solution to your needs that is in your best interest.  My experience, knowledge and advice will assist you in making decisions. Whether you are buying, selling or both, reaching your goal in your time frame becomes my goal in assisting you.

Who is Brian?

A life long resident of Nebraska who has lived in the Omaha Metro area since age 6.  A graduate of Papillion-LaVista high school and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.

I have been involved with new home construction and the real estate industries since 1983.  I literally grew up in the business as my father was a successful custom home builder in the Omaha area (retired 2011) and my grandfather made his living in the construction trades.

Still happily married after 20 years to my wife, we have two teenage daughters.

Why work with me?

My goal is to help you express your true wants and needs when it comes to housing and help you find a way to achieve them.

Although I have a college degree and earned several real estate designations, the importance is how I am able to transfer that knowledge to best help you in your current situation.

The real estate industry has become more regulated and complex in the last decade.  Just a few years ago, obtaining a contract on a home was the centerpiece in almost every transaction.  It was relatively easy to get to the closing.  Today the market has shifted and finding solutions to these challenges are critical.  This is where the continued growth of my knowledge of the industry can best help you.

Brian, I've been in the house about five-six times for a few
minutes, and this includes our walk-through (although the
walk-through lasted more than a few minutes).

But today was special.  For the first time I used a key to
get in, and it felt absolutely wonderful.  I looked around,
walked around, and tears almost came for the second time
today.  The first time was just after the keys were handed
to me at Closing.  But you may have missed my expression
at the end of Closing, when the keys were handed to me,
because I was fighting to keep my composure.  As you
know me, I am one who would rather laugh than cry, but it
took all I could muster to hold back today.

Brian,
Often times you hear of horror stories when people try to sell a home or buy one and the real estate sales person was difficult to work with or the experience was a “nightmare”.
We certainly did not have that kind of experience.  As a matter of fact we had an enjoyable experience and timely one as well.  After having our house on the market for a year we gave up and took it off the market.  This decision generated interest from other agents offering their services and all you did was put your business card in our front door.
I found it and was amused at the subtle way that you went about offering your services.
I suggested to Rob that we give it a try.  We sold the home within a month and purchased the one that we had spent so much time dreaming about.

We tried to sell our home but with no success.  I was so frustrated that no one was even interested in looking at our home.  Once we listed with Brian our house got attention!  Showings happened, open houses….they did everything in order to sell our home!  The level of personal communication I was able to have with them was fantastic, I was always in the loop.  Within months the house was sold and we could move into our new home!
